Apart from the moving, intimate entries, there are plenty of high-energy accounts of key Springsteen concerts, cherished albums or songs and unexpected brushes with the seemingly amiable artist. The stories and pictures go as far back as Springsteen's early group, Steel Mill, in 1970 and take the reader up to the present day.
