A little info on how GA/PIT will work for the upcoming tour:

Addressing a few GA floor concerns:
I have read every one of the fans e-mails sent to me and have been
walking the floors prior to our shows for quite a few years. The
consensus of handling the GA with a numbered wrist band control of
some sort is the fairest. The base of the process we would like to
use everywhere would be to give out wrist bands from XX :AM until 5:00
PM. At 5:00 (these times to be decided by venue security and Jerry)
there would be a number chosen to be # 1. Then people from that number
to the pit capacity decided by venue security and Jerry would be would
be given a second wrist band for line up for pit access. They would
keep the first wrist band on. Then entering as directed by venue.
These wrist bands would be supplied by us. If there is need of a venue
wristband for number control assurance I see no problem with that and
it's one more souvenir for the fan. I realize this still leaves the
dilemma for fans who have to work and can't get there before 5:00 but
we have to have some standard and while not perfect for all this seems
the fairest. As Jerry reaches a plan for each venue ahead of time we
will then feed this infomation out though the logical sources
including venue sites so people can feel they know what's going on. In
particular it would be great if we could let people know ahead of time
where this will all happen so they don't spend their time walking
around the building looking for the correct place to obtain their
bands. The one thing I will reiterate here is we have no intention
anywhere of dealing with the sharpie self regulated modes of some fan
groups. I think this will successfully be our plan for the majority of
our venues and our goal is that whatever the plan we will have the
information out ahead of time for the fans.
Next: Fans who come early come hoping for the chance to get their GA
positions and also for many just as importantly to spend some time
with other "Bruce Springsteen and the E-Street Band friends". The
issue for many venues is what to do for these people who just want to
be with each other for the day. If there is a place near the venue
where these people could safely get together we would appreciate it.
We all understand that this may not be possible if for no other reason
that the liability factor the venue faces with gatherings of people in
general. The need for additional security and EMT personnel is a real
factor that everyone appreciates. We understand if the venue can't do
this until a certain hour due to staffing. If there is the ability to
do this we would like to let the fans know what time they could go
where. so,, that's where we're at at this time and I figure maybe some
will feel a little less concerned knowing we do have intent. Thanks,
GT

The PIT revealed

Since the entire floor seems to be GA at all the shows, it there a separate ticket for the PIT, or will PIT capacity be on a first come, first serve or some other basis. I just need guidence on what kind of ticket to buy. Like lots of fans, I'm serious about this. I saw my first Bruce show at the old Century Theatre in Buffalo (opening show of the BTR tour in 1976) and have seen 63 other shows on every tour since. Thanks for your guidence in advance.
Hi Dfuscus. The PIT is a separate part of the GA floor and all you need is a GA ticket to get in. However, you need to sign up or form a line at some point before the show in order to try to get in to the PIT. For this tour, it looks like they will be doing a lottery: You would have to go to the venue early on the day of the show, show your GA ticket and get a wristband with a number on it. You would then come back to the venue near to the start of the show where they will choose a start number and count 300 people from there. So, say you get number 200 and there are 400 people who have lined up. They choose to start at number 100 and let 300 hundred people in (from 100-400). This means the first 100 people (numbers 1-99) don't get in. Hopefully this makes sense...
We are lucky enough to have general admission tickets for the Cleveland show. I don't care if we get into the pit, but we'd like to be at least 1/2 way to the stage, not way in the back. Can we just show up right before the show and not be way in the back? Or, if we change our minds and decide to try for the pit, can one of us bring all 3 tickets to get wristbands or do we all have to be there? Thanks!
To get into the PIT everyone needs to be there -- no easy way to do it. If you show up for general admission right before the show, you can always make your way up front -- might take some time but there are no restrictions as to how close you get. The PIT takes up the first 30 feet from the stage, then there is a wall that divides the PIT from the rest of general admission.
The PIT is an unreal experience -- I would try for that if you want to get close to the band.
