According to The Guardian, the 10/27/02 London show at Wembley Arena on The Rising tour is one of the top 25 gigs of all time.
The author, Stephen Merchant was clearly not a fan when he headed to the show but like so many who finally acquiesce and see a live performance, he was reborn as a fan and now he's "seen him every time he's played here since, and every gig has been gobsmacking."
I have been there when people have experienced this. I took my wife to a show in Toronto (5/3/2000) as a birthday wish and she left screaming the praises. 10 years of playing his songs did nothing to convince her...front row, dead center tickets and a clear view of Springsteen and she was sold. Whatever works -- we have seen at least one show per tour since then.
To see the other top gigs of all time, visit here (glad to see Elvis on that list as well).
