I was a big fan of the Hollywood Stock Exchange in their early days. It was a great way to see what trends were on the horizon and which movie stars or movies would be garnering all the buzz. It got me thinking about the impact of musicians and where Springsteen stood when it came to hype and value. Well...not so good is all I can say.
Of the three or four "celebrity stock exchanges" his name only registers on one of them (Fatdog Exchange) and the asking price for a single share of Springsteen is $1.12. The other sites (Celebdaq and Trendio) don't even have him in their databases of celebrities.
Then, on to Google to check out where he fits in the grander search scheme of the Internet with their trends search engine.
On first look, it seems there is activity under the Springsteen name after all:however, add a buzz maker like Britney Spears to the equation and (she's in red):
So while his shows sell out, his albums sell millions, his trend line and stock value aren't quite as large as his die hard following.
