This post got us to thinking... So, it being new years and all I thought I would look around and see where the Seeger Sessions falls on everyone's top albums of 2006:
Billboard Magazine has Seeger Sessions in at 100 in the their top 200 albums of the year. They also ranked it number 2 of 10 in their critics' choice behind Dylans' Modern Times.
The Bradenton Herald: #7
"This project sounded like a dull and unnecessary vanity project. But leave it to the Boss to reinvent his favorite folk songs with a smoking 17-piece band of horns, strings and pianos that sounds plucked from the French Quarter. The results are a hootenanny worth hollering about."The Montreal Gazette: #3 on one of their lists
"The Boss salutes Pete Seeger with these joyous, big band hootenanny versions of traditional folk songs from the Seeger canon."France Inter puts the Seeger Sessions at #5.
Any others out there?
